10 Best movies for ‘Shitty Friday’ night-in

During the pandemic lockdown, with no place to go, we started a weekly tradition: every Friday night, we’d find a B-A-D movie to watch and drink until it felt good—or at least extremely funny.

The rules are simple:

1. Choose a predictable and silly trope.

2. Drink every time you spot it.

Examples: Vin Diesel delivering a cheesy one-liner, an ensemble cast walking seriously into danger, or a couple arguing passionately while the girl turns her back to the boy.

This is the list of the very best B-A-D movies for your viewing pleasure:

1. The VelociPastor - the movie that started it all and to this day the undisputed winner of best worst movies ever.

2. Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter - this one is particularly bad. Get ALL the booze you can get.

3. Elvis from Outer Space - Elvis has definitely left the building… went to outer space and came back looking nothing like Elvis.

4. xXx: Return of Xander Cage - the return of cheesy one-liners and big guns. Oh, Vin Diesel still looks great without a shirt.

5. 6 Underground - this was actually supposed to be a cool movie, but then again, we just got a bottle of whisky from Amazon.

6. Fatal Affair - Great actors, horrible, predictable movie. Nothing some (many) shots can’t fix

7. Dangerous Lies - I think we were already drunk to choose this movie

8. The Expendables 2 - Too. Many. Tropes. Drunk. So. Fast.

9. Fanboys - Oh my, that was truly horrible, but we drank any time the characters did something nerdy. I.e. we drank for 120 minutes straight.

10. Police Academy - Any one of the franchise movies. The best move is to drink to anything that would never fly in today’s movies.
